Are you prepared for “the big one” if it comes swirling ashore near your hometown? Don’t get caught scrambling at the last minute, because supplies can sell out quickly.

Stock Up On Supplies

  • Bottled water
  • Non-perishable food
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries
  • Car phone charger
  • Landline phone
  • Battery-powered radio
  • Cash
  • Charcoal/propane
  • Gas
  • First-aid kit

Make Other Preparations

  • Fill bathtubs
  • Charge electronics
  • Wash/dry clothes
  • Run dishwasher
  • Take pictures and videos of belongings

Tie Up Loose Ends

  • Secure outdoor furniture and other large items
  • Bring smaller items inside
  • Lower pool level
  • Trim branches and dispose of debris
  • Reinforce windows (never tape!)
