"We are allowed to make mistakes," professional contractor and TV host Mike Holmes said during the 2019 International Roofing Expo. "Those who stand up to make it right [are] everything. That's how we learn."

Doing it right the first time, or fixing mistakes when they happen, is what the motto "Roof It Right" is all about.

"Homeowners are always left with the taste in their mouth of what you did last," Holmes continued. "If it was done wrong, they don't like that. But if you came back to fix it, they like that, and they're going to tell everyone else, 'There was a mistake, but they came back' — and that's the most important thing."
